Derek W. Eisemann

Derek W. Eisemann joined Syprett Meshad in 2013. He devotes his legal practice to representing plaintiffs in all aspects of personal injury matters, as well as other areas of civil litigation, including real estate. In 2016, he was selected as a “Rising Star” among Florida lawyers. Less than 2.5 percent of lawyers in the state are selected for the Rising Stars distinction, which is reserved for those lawyers aged 40 or younger.

Prior to joining Syprett Meshad, Mr. Eisemann gained invaluable experience working for and representing insurance companies in cases involving automobile accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice, products liability, and construction defect litigation. While working for a statewide insurance defense firm based in Fort Myers, Florida, Mr. Eisemann traveled throughout central and south Florida defending primarily against fraudulent medical claims

Mr. Eisemann’s professional background enables him to provide clients with hands-on knowledge, insight and perspective of the best methods for negotiating with and handling insurance companies both before and after a lawsuit is filed. He is a member of the Sarasota County Bar Association, and serves on various committees in the Young Lawyers Division.

Born and raised in Sarasota, Florida, Mr. Eisemann graduated from Sarasota High School in 2001. He attended Florida State University, graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in both Risk Management /Insurance and Real Estate from the school’s College of Business. After earning his undergraduate degrees, Mr. Eisemann attended the Barry University School of Law in Orlando, Florida. While a student, Mr. Eisemann gained experience working in a small personal injury law firm and participated in the School’s Tax Assistance program, which provides tax-related legal help to low-income individuals

While attending Barry, Mr. Eisemann earned the book awards in Commercial Law, Tax and Estate Planning, and Legal Writing. He graduated with his law degree in 2011.
