Title Insurance

Title insurance is an absolute necessity for purchasers and lenders in today’s real estate transactions. This is especially true in light of the recent revelations and allegations of improper foreclosure procedures utilized by “foreclosure mills” which can lead to defective title to the real property foreclosed upon. It is in the best interest of anyone purchasing real property or making a loan on real property to obtain a title insurance policy to protect their interests and for same to be issued by a licensed title insurance agent who is knowledgeable in real estate law. In REO property acquisitions (ie: purchasing a property after it has gone through a foreclosure), a title insurance agent’s knowledge of foreclosure law is essential in properly reviewing or issuing title insurance. Each attorney in the Firm’s real estate department is a licensed title insurance agent and will issue the required title insurance and/or review a title insurance commitment proposed by a third party to ensure that it properly insures our client for the real estate interest being acquired.
